BMW International Open 2014
What a close finish! The 26th BMW International Open was the most exciting one so far, with Fabrizio Zanotti emerging as the eventual winner.
This established European Tour event was held at the Golfclub Gut Lärchenhof in Pulheim near Cologne, for the second time, from 24th – 29th of June, 2014. Some 50,000 spectators braved the bad weather conditions to see Europe’s top professional golfers compete to win Germany’s most high profile golf tournament. These dedicated fans were rewarded for their loyalty by witnessing an absorbing contest that saw Fabrizio Zanotti from Paraguay win the BMW International Open 2014 at the fifth extra hole. Home fans also cheered on Alex Cejka who finished a creditable twelfth place as the highest German golfer.
As the official beer of the European Tour, Warsteiner was represented at the BMW International Open 2014 with a bespoke Warsteiner Lounge bar in the tented village complete with an excellent view of the leaderboard. Golf fans were also able to enjoy the finest premium beers at the KONIG LUDWIG beer garden.
Warsteiner also captured the attention of the public and the media on Hole 12 with its imaginative Warsteiner Igloo! While German celebrity chef, Frank Rosin, created a fabulous culinary experience in the VIP lounge for guests to enjoy with a freshly poured Warsteiner – the perfect refreshment for thirsty golf fans!
It can be said that even in this year Warsteiner provided as the official supplier of beer of the European Tour PERFECT refreshment.
