Warsteiner at the Movies in Rotterdam
The 45th International Film Festival Rotterdam is about to open its doors in cinemas across this Dutch city to welcome the world to its annual celebration of independent film making. As one of the Netherland’s largest cultural happenings and one of the largest public film festivals in the world, this event regularly attracts more than 300,000 visitors from around the globe.
From January 27 to February 6, 2016, a diverse selection of short films, documentaries, workshops, exhibits as well as feature length films by emerging talents and respected auteurs is bound to delight, disturb, enchant and engage the minds of critics and audiences alike. Striving for authenticity and shunning the red carpet drama, the IFFR is well known for its interactive, passionate atmosphere which encourages film makers and casts to mingle with the audience for an exhilarating exchange of ideas and impressions.
For Warsteiner, now in its second year of sponsorship of this global event, the cultural partnership with the IFFR is a logical extension of the brewery’s long-standing support for the arts. New this year is the Warsteiner Audience Award, which carries a cash value of 10,000 Euros.
In contrast to jury-driven film awards, the audience alone decides the winner by casting their votes with their ticket stubs. To celebrate this occasion and further promote this exciting event, Warsteiner has produced a limited edition IFFR bottle featuring the festival’s iconic tiger logo deconstructed by multiple perspectives on a golden background. This collector’s item will be served at the different festival venues and is also available at select supermarkets, bars and restaurants in and around Rotterdam as of January 18.
So, if you are in Rotterdam, check out the films and make sure you don’t miss the rousing “Closing Night by Warsteiner” party on February 6, where hometown DJs Jeff Solo and Tobias Prinz, plus Vic Crezeelaan from Amsterdam promise a night of fun, film and, of course, fine beer! See you at the movies!
