BERLIN CALLING! With Lollapalooza festival
“It’s awesome!”– That pretty much summed up the special Lollapalooza Berlin weekend for the ten lucky winners of our 2016 Berlin Calling promotion in the UK. With much better odds than the National Lottery, more than 30,000 British Warsteiner fans participated in our UK promotion this summer by entering codes available at on- and off-trade outlets. While everyone was hoping to score the grand prize - a dream weekend in Berlin, including VIP access to the Lollapalooza Festival - ten Warsteiner winners got to pack their bags for a trip of a lifetime!
Indeed, this second weekend in September was jam-packed with goodies! Starting with a VIP airport shuttle to the hip boutique hotel Catalonia in the heart of Berlin, our guests were ready to enjoy Berlin at its finest and “funnest!” After a refreshing Warsteiner welcome, the weekend extravaganza kicked off Friday night with bar hopping and great food at one of Berlin’s hottest nightspots, the unique White Trash restaurant and club, followed by a unique Trabbi-stretch limo tour to catch the vibe of Berlin’s pulsating, bustling nightlife.
The next day, it was Lollapalooza time! Onboard Warsteiner’s #musikdurstig float with newcomer act Havington keeping the beat, our British guests cruised down the Spree River under sunny skies right to the festival grounds in Treptower Park. The grand dame of festivals featured top acts like Radiohead, King of Leon and Paul Kalkbrenner who together burned down the house pumping out their fan favorites and keeping the crowd of 70,000 on their feet dancing.
As the official partner of Lollapalooza Berlin, Warsteiner made sure that our thirsty music lovers found plenty of refreshments at the Warsteiner Biergarten to cool off after a particularly hot set. Further celebrating this fantastic mix of music, art and fun that’s the hallmark of the Lollapalooza brand, the #musicdurstig float became a sought-after water-bound attraction during the entire festival where concert goers enjoyed music by acts like Alle Farben and Graham Candy while taking in the scenery along the Spree.
But the good times can’t roll on forever. So on Monday morning, it was time to say goodbye as our guests gave this great city one last shout out: “It’s awesome!” We couldn’t agree more – Cheers Warsteiner!
