Formula E in Buenos Aires – A Review
You did it! Thank you, fans! By voting online like crazy in the days before the race, you gave our driver Lucas di Grassi from the Warsteiner-sponsored ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team a great fan boost that propelled him onto the podium! So much fan love helped soften the blow of missing the victory by just a few seconds!
The fourth race of the Formula E Championship saw a hotly contested battle for points and glory under the searing Buenos Aires sun. Thousands of fans cheered along the 2.48 km race track while millions more followed the action on TV and social media. In the end, the British driver Sam Bird starting from the pole position scored first place ahead of Renault’s Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi. By bringing home valuable 15 points, di Grassi is only four points behind his rival Buemi in the driver standings – and the great rivalry continues.
With the next race scheduled a month from now in Mexico, the ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team has some work to do in its pursuit of glory.
While the pit crew once again performed brilliantly by putting up one of the fastest pit stops, both di Grassi and his teammate Daniel Abt, our Warsteiner brand ambassador, are looking to squeeze more performance out of their cars. “Today, let’s be honest, we weren’t strong enough to beat the Renault team, but we showed that we can fight, and we don’t mind the role of the underdog as we will use every chance we get,” states team chef Hans-Jürgen Abt. Well, that sets the tone for an exciting round five in Mexico City on March 12!
