Warsteiner Inspires at the London Collection Men’s 2016 – A Review
Curious what to wear in 2016? With over 65 British and international menswear designers sending out their models onto the catwalk with their latest creations and many more setting up showrooms, the London Collection Men’s fashion event was a perfect place to see and be seen! Held on January 8 -11, 2016, in the heart of the British capital, fashion labels from Alexander McQueen to Burberry to British biker brand Belstaff presented collections that exploded into a kaleidoscope of colors, materials, and textures. From muted knits and iconic plaid to fluorescent color-drenched combat wear and surprising shearling silhouettes, 2016 promises to be an exciting year in men’s fashion.
For the first time, the London Collection Men’s events were bundled in two locations which allowed for press, buyers and spectators to take it all in: While the designers set up showrooms in the fabulous Victoria House, which also featured catwalks and stage presentations, the light-filled 180 Strand building and its classic brutalist design provided an ideal backdrop for many of the Saturday/Sunday catwalk shows. With celebrities, models and fashionistas in steady attendance at both places, a young sophisticated crowd gathered daily to check out the new creations and get inspirations for their next wardrobe adventure. Warsteiner, as the official beer supplier of this high-profile fashion event, was a welcome sight for these urban movers and shakers, and our well-staffed and well-stocked bars enjoyed immense popularity amidst the buzz!
Indeed, it was a busy four days for our Warsteiner UK team, as the brand also participated at the 13th London Short Film Festival which opened the same weekend. And just like at the London Collection Men’s, this innovative film festival celebrates cutting-edge creativity by showcasing young emerging talents that push the envelope of the industry.
After all, these are events that Warsteiner with its ongoing engagement in the arts is known to passionately support. So, wondering what to wear and what to watch, here are some impressions:
