Warsteiner Extends Partnership with ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport
The count-down is on, the engines are checked, and the drivers are ready with their game face on! This Saturday, October 24, the FIA Formula E kicks off its second season at the Olympic Park of Beijing – where a year ago, our ABT Formula E Team driver, Lucas di Grassi, electrified the crowd with a first place in the historic Formula E 2014 season opener! Now the question everyone is asking - can he do it again this year?
10 teams, each with two drivers, will compete for the checkered flag in front of more than 70,000 spectators and a global TV and Internet audience, showcasing the amazing performance of these all-electric cars in dramatic fashion – after all, going from 0-60 miles per hour in under 3 seconds while being carbon-free is not for the faint-hearted!
As a proud sponsor of the ABT Formula E Team, Warsteiner is looking forward to another thrilling racing season: The Brazilian Lucas di Grassi and his German teammate Daniel Abt are ready to show the world that last year’s third overall team place was just a warm-up for an even greater 2015/2016 season!
The Warsteiner brand name and logo will again be prominently displayed on both race cars and in the ABT Formula E pit. Daniel Abt, our Warsteiner brand ambassador, will sport a brand new helmet with our signature logo in black and gold colors.
The Formula E is a perfect match for Warsteiner – merging our passion for innovation and commitment to sustainability into one sleek package! While last year’s inaugural race attracted an impressive 40 million TV viewers, the expectations for this year are even higher. Plus, millions of users will follow the race on Facebook, Instagram and other social media.
The 10-race circuit is scheduled to travel the globe with stops in some of the world’s most exciting metropolitan areas – and it all starts this Saturday in Beijing. Drivers, start your engines and get this show on the road!
