The Dekmantel Festival 2015 – A Review
They came from all over Europe and beyond - by car, train, bus, plane, and, of course, on bikes, lots of bikes! On the first weekend in August, thousands of music fans heeded the call to attend one of Europe’s premier techno music festivals in the Dutch capital Amsterdam - the amazing Dekmantel festival. Now in its 3rd year, this sold-out event held in the bucolic town forest Amsterdam Bos presents a masterfully curated selection of techno music that ingeniously mixes established icons of the scene with promising newcomers, always with an eye and ear towards quality and authenticity.
This year, this well-organized festival also ventured into the heart of Amsterdam by staging shows at the iconic Melkweg and the spectacular Muziekgebouw, the Netherland’s most influential stage for contemporary music. For three days, festival-goers celebrated the power of music by dancing into the night and partying to awe-inspiring sets compiled by their favorite DJs.
To make sure no one went thirsty for too long, Warsteiner hosted a beer garden where grateful fans found an oasis to chill and relax with our refreshing cold premium beers on tap while the music kept on going.
In addition, paying tribute to some of the pioneers of the techno scene like Steve Rachmad and Joy Orbison, the Warsteiner-sponsored “Sole Selector” stage stationed among majestic willow trees presented video installations featuring the stories of these musical heroes told in their own words and inviting fans to get a close look into their commitment and passion, and above all, what it means to “Do It Right.” So, let’s mark our calendars and do it again in 2016!
