Parookaville Festival 2015 – Review
The first edition of the Parookaville Festival was a smashing success! Held at the airport in Weeze, the vast airfields and huge hangars transformed into an electronic dance paradise with 80 top international DJs like Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Robin and Felix Schulz Jaehn on 65,000 square meters and five stages. More than 25,000 festival fans kept the party going during this sold-out, three day event in July as citizens of Parookaville!
Following the motto of its founder and mayor, Bill Parooka, an entire “town” was built on the premise that madness, love and pure bliss may rule for a weekend of music and dance. In addition to campsites for 13,000 visitors, the grounds featured a huge supermarket, swimming pool, carnival, and König Ludwig beer garden, while the old British bunkers transformed into stores, bars, a post office, registry office and the only true Warsteiner Parooka church. One can safely say Parookaville won the vote for “Best Place to Live” that weekend.
To celebrate that everything is possible, the Warsteiner Parooka church became a hub of activities – ranging from dancing and partying to marrying and confessing.
Altogether more than 750 couples were “married” in the Warsteiner church, where no one was excluded and every constellation was welcomed! The organizer Bernd Dicks actually married his entire crew and rumors have it, they are still in love! Check out some of the ceremonies with the hashtags #musikdurstig and #parooka_church on social media.
And those who felt in need of a bit of spiritual cleansing, the Warsteiner church offered to take confessions for more than 500 souls looking for purification – all in the spirit of abundant fun! Remember, what happens in Parookaville stays in Parookaville!
