Formula E: Another Dramatic Race in Buenos Aires
The highlights of the Formula E keep on coming! Taking the concept of a warm-up party to new heights, the Warsteiner AUDI ABT Formula E Night was the place to be before the big race on Saturday in Buenos Aires.
Held at one of the trendiest addresses in Buenos Aires, the spectacular La Mansión at the Four Seasons with its glamourous Belle Époque style dating back to 1916, this extravaganza around the Audi Sport ABT Formular E Team turned into an unforgettable evening of partying Warsteiner style. The guest list of more than 300 people read like the Who’s Who of the Formula E circuit, ranging from its CEO, Alejandro Agag, to the No. 1 ranked team driver Lucas di Grassi and his teammate Daniel Abt, who is the WARSTEINER Fresh/Non-Alcoholic Brand Ambassador; other guests included drivers and managers of the close-knit Formula E family as well as members of the press and friends of Warsteiner. The popular sports journalist Alina Moine was the evening’s presenter, and together with other well-known celebrities such as DJs Nico Cotta and Emilia Attias (the actress was recently called Argentina’s hottest DJ) fired up the crowd all evening long!
The race on Saturday afternoon provided heart-stopping excitement with a sell-out crowd of more than 20,000 spectators cheering on their favorite daredevils in their sleek cars around the Puerto Madero Street Circuit. Starting from position 5, Lucas di Grassi was able to weave his way into the lead by lap 24, but later was eliminated due to a malfunction of his car. His teammate, Daniel Abt, ended up on in the rear of the field after getting hip-checked during an overtake attempt.
After some fierce battling in the last laps, the Portuguese driver, Antonio Felix da Costa, saw the checkered flag and raised his arms in victory. However…in the ranking, the Audi Sport ABT ace, Lucas di Grassi, is still the No. 1 and celebrates with Warsteiner – That’s good news!
