Bunbury Festival 2014 Review
Sunshine, great music, beach balls floating through the air, a fantastic vibe and a cold Warsteiner – the Bunbury Festival was the place to be on the second weekend in July.
Held in the mile-long Sawyer Park along the beautiful Ohio River in Cincinnati, this three-day event featured over 100 bands on six stages. Die-hard fans of top acts including Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Flaming Lips and many more danced to their favorite hits, while indie groups thrilled scores of music lovers with their eclectic tunes.
Over 60,000 fans celebrated together at this beautiful venue, from teenie boppers to cool hipsters, everyone found their little piece of music paradise amidst the shady trees, while misting stations and water fountains provided welcome relief from dancing in the summer heat.
Countless fans gathered at the Warsteiner stage with its over-sized Warsteiner logo as backdrop to party to the amazing line-up. As the official beer of the festival with two of Warsteiner’s flagship beers on tap, Premium Verum and Premium Dunkel, Warsteiner had several exciting festival promotions going on and provided plenty of refreshing beer and entertainment.
Another busy destination was the popular Warsteiner Lounge tent with its cool décor and comfy couches! Sunday afternoon saw a dramatic thunderstorm – and an even more dramatic World Cup final which was broadcast on the big screen in the Warsteiner tent to the delight of a jam-packed crowd of enthusiastic soccer fans, cheering and chanting as Germany scored in spectacular fashion, securing the Cup for the fourth time! And afterwards…right back to the music! That’s what we like to call a glorious day!
And just in case you’re wondering, what’s up with the name Bunbury? Named after an imaginary friend in an Oscar Wilde play, “Bunbury” stands for a made-up excuse to get out of doing something boring. So, if you missed your “Bunbury” this year, go ahead and put the second weekend in July on your 2015 calendar! Cheers Warsteiner!
