CHIO Aachen – The Warsteiner Prize
Germany - The world’s best show jumpers came together to battle for the hotly contested Warsteiner Prize – Prize of Europe during the CHIO Aachen held from June 21 – 30, 2013.
This year a field of 52 participants from 15 nations took to the challenging course in front of 32,700 enthusiastic spectators. The British rider Ben Maher secured his victory in the exciting jump-off with his mare Cella after a fast and flawless round of 44.07 seconds. For the 30-year old Olympic Team winner, this successful outing was a perfect beginning to the competition on the hallowed grounds of the Aachener Soers.
Celebrating his victory in style, the congenial Brit took a big swig from the Warsteiner tulip glass as it was handed to him during the victory ceremony.
