BLOOOM Award 2012 – Ten Finalists Selected
WORLDWIDE - More than 800 artists from 29 nations and six continents participated in the BLOOOM Award 2012. Entries from all artistic genres were submitted, and now, after a long selection process, the jury has chosen the 10 best entries.
The result is a variety of exciting works of extremely high quality spanning all genres. As expected, the majority of the entries came from Germany and the Netherlands as the two original countries of the BLOOOM Awards. But artists from China, Australia, North and South America as well as from all over Europe also submitted their works.
This jury had to be convinced
The five members of the interdisciplinary and international jury appreciated the diverse and exciting entries this year. A variety of high-quality, sophisticated works were awaiting the gallerist and art collector, Selim Varol; the patron and managing partner of the Warsteiner group, Catharina Cramer; the gallerist and journalist, Yasha Young; the art director of the ART.FAIR and BLOOOM, Walter Gehlen; and the singer and painter MiMi Westernhagen.
From urban art, interactive objects, multimedia sculptures, paintings, digital art, photography to design – everything was present that inspires young artists worldwide.
The selected works of the finalists will be presented from November 1-4, 2012, to more than 32,000 visitors at a special exhibit as part of the BLOOOM – the converging art show in the Staatenhaus in Cologne. A day earlier, on October 31, 2012, the jury will announce the three winners of the BLOOOM Award 2012 during a special ceremony in the Staatenhaus.
These ten artists made the cut and are showing their works (italics) in the fall at the BLOOOM – the converging art show:
