Martin Kaymer Secures 2012 Ryder Cup Win
USA - One Putt, One Victory, One Hero – Martin Kaymer Secures Sensational 2012 Ryder Cup Win for Team Europe
Held every two years since 1927 on alternate sides of the Atlantic, the Ryder Cup has become one of the most celebrated sporting events in the world. With the best pro golfers from Europe and America vying for a spot on their respective team, a fierce competition not for money but for prestige is guaranteed.
This year, the course of the Ryder Cup was particularly exciting: While the situation seemed hopeless on Saturday at the Medinah Golf Club in Illinois for the Europeans, who trailed their American counterparts 6 to 10, Sunday saw a spectacular turn-around. With a 6-foot par putt on the 18th hole in the second to last game, the German golfer Martin Kaymer put Europe ahead of the Americans, setting the stage for one of the greatest comebacks in Ryder Cup history. And so the Ryder Cup 2012 ended with a European victory over the US by the closest of margins: 14 ½ to 13 ½.
WARSTEINER congratulates Team Europe on the victory. Cheers!
At the end of this dramatic final day, Team Europe celebrated their impossible victory with spontaneous singing and dancing to the delight of their many European fans, and in particular Martin Kaymer, draped in a German flag, was wildly cheered, while their stunned American rivals looked on in disbelief at the leaderboard.
WARSTEINER as the “Official Supplier of Beer to the European Tour” closely followed this fantastic event and was particularly proud when Martin Kaymer putted Team Europe to victory. We would like to invite everybody to toast on this successful outcome with a refreshing WARSTEINER.
